Work Experience.. what a week.

                                                   Thursday, 24th November 2011

Back to school this week after a hectic week of work experience .. *sigh*. I have to say, it was a lot more fun than i thought it would be. From Monday to Friday, i was kept busy non-stop. From painting, to helping the children with reading to the Mini Scientist. I was in St.Brigid's Primary school for the week, and it was such a good feeling to be back. The place looked so different, but yet the exact same, at the same time. I was put into a Senior Infants class, they were crazy, but so cute. I became so fond of the class instantly, they welcomed me with open arms and were so enthusiastic. I got a really good insight into the world of work, and work experience has really opened my eyes about teaching. I am definitely more motivated and determined to do teaching when i am older... fingers crossed! I was so sad to see the week end, it really did fly in unfortunately. I had an amazing week.

Work Experience... that flew in!

                                                                                                                                                    Wednesday, 9th November 2011

I havent't blogged in a while, because of midterm, so here goes...
Next week, all TY students will be going out on their Work Experience. We will be working for 5 days.  I will be going to St.Brigid's Primary School, the school i attended. I've wanted to be a primary teacher all my life.. literally. So now i have the chance to test it out and see if it really is the job for me! I chose to go to Brigid's because, not only was it my school, but I have 8 years of amazing memories from that place, the teachers are incredibly friendly in there, and I'd love to go back and relive a school day in Brigid's once again. I put in my application very early, so that I would hopefully have a good chance of getting in. I did.. Happy Days!
What i hope to gain from Work Experience: First of all I would like to get a taste of what the world of work is really like, is it difficult, frustrating etc. I want to find out if primary teaching really is for me and do i like it. I hope to develop my communication skills, both with the students and teachers. I hope to follow all instructions that I am given. I promise to make the most of my 5 days at Brigid's as I know this is probably the only time I'll get this chance.
I'll write about my Work Experience when I get back.
